If you are looking for advice on getting into the industry we can recommend several websites which have dedicated sections for aspiring game developers:
Creative Skillset is the industry skills body for the Creative Industries. It works across film, television, radio, fashion and textiles, animation, games, visual effects, publishing, advertising and marketing communications. It works with and for the Creative Industries to develop skills and talent, supporting productivity and employability. Their website has advice about careers, degree course, qualifications needed, and how to get relevant experience.
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts is an independent charity that supports, develops and promotes the art forms of the moving image by identifying and rewarding excellence, inspiring practitioners and benefiting the public.
In addition to its Awards ceremonies, BAFTA has a year-round, international programme of learning events and initiatives that offers unique access to some of the world’s most inspiring talent through workshops, masterclasses, scholarships, lectures and mentoring schemes, connecting with audiences of all ages and backgrounds across the UK, Los Angeles and New York. Since Video Games got their own BAFTA awards, BAFTA has a big presence in the Video Game Industry and the BAFTA Guru section of their website has loads of great advice for aspiring game developers.
The directors of Arch Creatives are all very busy people, however we try to help people out when we can; so if – for the sake of argument (and we’re not promising anything) – you were to contact us via the about page with specific questions, someone might get back to you.
